Purpose of this Blog

This blog is not intended to examine the death and cover up of Dr David Kelly; I think there are existing blogs that do a good job of that. What I want to try and do is bring about a discussion on how Dr Kelly's death has affected the attitude of the public towards our institutions.

How the government’s handling of Dr Kelly before his death and the cover up surrounding his death has affected our confidence in the police, civil service and politicians and what that means for our society as a whole? How much trust has been eroded and what are the consequences?

I have to be honest, because of personal experience, I already knew how rotten and corrupt our police state had become. I was not surprised by the reaction of the public, brought about by the cover up, or maybe I was slightly surprised it was not greater. But nearly 8 years on and there is a hard core out there still demanding Justice. What does this say for the morals of the general public? And even more importantly what does this say about a government who continues to deny justice?

William Gladstone is said to have declared "Justice delayed is justice denied". I believe justice has been denied to David Kelly and our society and democracy has been severely damaged by the people who conducted the cover up. People who the public pay to uphold law and order, the same that take our money and show open contempt for our laws. They took a view that the law doesn't apply to them and when that became a reality our democracy died.
